Alpha LSG and Thomas Cook Airlines recognise Outstanding Performance of Cabin Crew

Alpha LSG has helped Thomas Cook Airlines to achieve record-breaking Inflight Retail results for 2016 despite a challenging year for the industry, according to Alan Hayes, Alpha LSG’s Inflight Retail and Managed Services Director.

Speaking at the culmination of a two-day OMG! Conference, Training and Awards event for Thomas Cook, Mr Hayes said that despite an incredibly tough year incredible results had been achieved.

He said: “The strength of our retail partnership is in the results we achieve in innovation, pro-activeness and driving change. To that end, I must pay tribute to everybody behind the scenes at both Thomas Cook and Alpha LSG in delivering such magnificent results.” Mr Hayes added: “The teamwork of the two companies was critical in ensuring our sales performance collectively continues to develop and go from strength to strength.”

Uwe Balser, Thomas Cook Group Director of Cabin Crew, also praised the Inflight Retail performance.  He told the audience: “I am so proud to see our cabin crew from across our markets attend this event to learn the latest sales techniques, to learn more about our fabulous products and to have lots of fun in the process. We already have the best crew in the industry – OMG! makes them even better.” Mr Basler also acknowledged the key role that Alpha LSG had played in the continuing success of the airline’s commercial growth.

More than 200 members of the group airlines’ Cabin Crew from the UK, Scandinavia, Germany and Belgium attended the OMG! Conference, Training and Awards held in The Cotswolds over April 26 and 27 – an event that revolved around workshops and seminars aimed at helping Cabin Crew achieve better commercial results and rewarding outstanding performance.

Cabin Crew received awards across nine categories. The overall winner of OMG! 2017 was Jennifer Bell who is based in Glasgow.  The award recognises the person who excels constantly across all categories – High Spend per Head, Incentive Participation, Positive Approach to Sales & Feedback and Commitment & Dedication to Onboard Sales. As well picking up the OMG! title, Jennifer won two Thomas Cook Airlines’ flights to San Francisco plus £500 of spending money.

Other key winners included Sarah Docherty from London-Gatwick for achieving the highest spend per head and Katja Stanton (Condor), Steve Stanton (Manchester), Nicola Fletcher (East Midlands) and Steen Henriksen (Thomas Cook Scandinavia/ Denmark) who received the Special Recognition Award for Commitment and Dedication to Onboard Sales.
